Memories with momo-chan ep5 [final episode]

blog in English

This will be the final episode.
Thanks to Momo-chan, our home regained its brightness.
It has been several months since my wife’s major accident.
I have nothing but gratitude for Momo. 😭

The accident occurred in an unexpected place, causing several fractures, including a dislocation fracture of the thoracic vertebrae, which carries the risk of hemiplegia or quadriplegia. The term for this is spinal fracture.

Due to the dislocation fracture, all the ligaments in the leg were ruptured. It was at this time that I learned there are four ligaments in the foot.

They are the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is located in the front and back as well as left and right.

This may be a familiar ligament name often heard in injuries among athletes like soccer players.

The arm fracture turned into an open fracture, putting my life in danger.

If it gets contaminated by bacteria or other pathogens, amputation may be necessary, and in the worst case scenario, it could be life-threatening.

So, it was extremely perilous.

Furthermore, despite such a severe accident, it was a miracle that none of the nerves were damaged or affected. ✨

Even in the location of the open fracture in the arm, the nerves were miraculously unharmed by the slimmest of margins. Honestly, the fact that my arm was still connected is a miracle in itself.

The same goes for the spinal fracture and the leg. There was no paralysis anywhere.

The hospital where I was taken was located in another prefecture. However, it was an excellent judgment by the emergency medical team! There was no facility in my local area that could treat the spinal fracture. They quickly recognized this abnormality and found a hospital where the necessary treatment could be provided!

It was a gathering of miracles where everything came together.

When I took my daughter, who was a university student, to the hospital, I was prepared for the worst. Whether it was hemiplegia or quadriplegia, how could I take care of my daughter on my own while also managing her graduation?

Panic filled my mind!

I knew I couldn’t lose control in front of my daughter, so I made every effort to maintain composure.

My daughter was the same. She acted strong and composed. After a few days in the emergency room, she was able to be moved to a regular hospital room.

And then, a few more days passed.

We both cried our hearts out in the hotel room. It was a moment when we somehow escaped the clutches of death, freed from all the risks, including the risk of infection.

From that point on, each day was still challenging, but compared to the first night, it was insignificant.

After undergoing several more surgeries, she is now full of energy. Despite the internal abnormalities, there are no visible signs of trauma on her appearance.

Although we have to be cautious about wearing short sleeves during the summer…

Her head and face, too, remain unscarred. She is still the beautiful and stunning wife.

Well, it’s about Momo’s story. Despite the challenging circumstances, Momo was like a cat who came to visit for the sake of my wife!

The accident that was hidden at the beginning of the story.

And Momo, she healed my wife’s aching, aching heart.

Momo, who was full of endearing quirks, loved to sleep by the window. Her cute little paws ❤️

When I stayed home until evening, she would wait for me on top of my slippers at the entrance, exuding an indescribable charm that fills my heart.

Momo, who brought so much warmth and laughter.

Momo, who provided so much laughter.

Momo, who offered abundant healing.

Every time I look at the final photo,

Tears well up, threatening to overflow.

On a spring day when the seasons were changing, Momo didn’t come back.

As a cat, she had her instincts.

Spring is not only a mating season for cats, but also a time when they may change their territory.

However, there was also the possibility that she lost to a dominant male cat in her previous territory.

I don’t know the exact reason, but she watched me leave for work and stared at the door for a while. I didn’t understand.

I’m sorry.

It would be great if she is still alive and happy.

I wish I had gotten her surgery done quickly and made her a fully indoor cat.

But is that truly what would have made Momo happy?

The answer remains unknown.

Thank you very much for reading this far. 😊

Using this experience, I am nurturing Moca and Berry with great care.

I will continue with the stories of Moca and Berry from now on.

Please continue to enjoy and support their stories.

Thank you and take care.
